He came to my house and diagnosed the reason (a leak in the compressor line) why the AC refrigerant had been getting refilled every 3 months - something that my regular HVAC guy never seemed to find. If you are looking for the cheapest - go elsewhere. But if you want somebody who knows their stuff and....completes the job thoroughly and on-time....call Tim."

of a couple of neighbors. He was available for me the next day, even though he was obviously busy. True to my neighbor's words, Tim was AWESOME! He is super clean, super nice, and super intelligent! He LOVES what he does and if you ask, he'll tell you all about it. You just have to politely say "OK, Tim, I've gotta get back to my work now" if it's too much techy info.
The cool thing was he actually wanted to let me know what was going on with my heater. I got up on the roof and took a look. He explained everything that was going on and why it needed to be fixed/replaced.
He is NOT "cheap" - you will pay for his services, but no more than what another heating/air person charges.
The best part: when he was on the roof and needed to go in/out - I just left the door unlocked. I trusted him that much.HIGHLY recommended, on the unfortunate event your heater or ac unit goes out."

"I have been using Tim Stivers for almost a decade in various homes. We met him when he serviced an entire building's worth of HVAC units in a Mills-Act historic core building in downtown, and since we moved out of the lofts we have used him in every single-residence home we've been in as well. Tim is responsive, prompt, knowledgable, honest and well-priced. He is incredibly thorough and really knows his stuff when it comes to making recommendations for maintenance and fixing the often-faulty past work of others (which you find all too often when people are trying to flip/sell/rent homes and condos in Los Angeles these days!). Tim really cares about quality and making sure you have the best product possible in your home, including being sensitive to ventilation and clean air. These days, it's really hard to find someone of his caliber, and i trust him implicitly. His crew is always polite and kind (he has trained them well!) and even after all these years you can see/hear him teaching his crew new things about AC units as they are doing inspections/fixes so that they can learn from his knowledge. He keeps a VERY tidy work area and always cleans up impeccably after any job. Whether it's for a one-off inspection/check up on your AC units or for regular, ongoing maintenance in your home or in multiple-unit buildings, or even replacing an entire HVAC system (we've done all 3 types of jobs with him), Tim Stivers is the cream of the crop. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking to repair, service or just maintain your AC/HVAC units."
